Supporting Fairtrade

‘What does the Lord require of us: to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God’  Micah 6:8

Both St Mary’s and St Bridget’s are Fairtrade churches. We think this is a really important commitment for us to make as part of the call to challenge injustice in the world. To be a Fairtrade Church, means that we have committed to:

  • Use Fairtrade tea and coffee after services and in all meetings for which we have responsibility.
  • Move forward on using other Fairtrade products such as sugar, biscuits and fruit.
  • Promote Fairtrade during Fairtrade Fortnight and during the year through events, worship and other activities whenever possible.

We have a Fairtrade stand available on the following Sundays in 2017:

30th July, following the 10am joint service at St Bridget’s.

13th August, following the 10:45am service at St Mary’s.

10th September, following the 10:45am service at St Mary’s.

8th October, following the 10:45am service at St Mary’s.

29th October, following the 10am joint service at St Mary’s.

12th November, following the 10:45am service at St Mary’s.

10th December, following the 10:45am service at St Mary’s.

31st December, following the 10am joint service at St Bridget’s.

There will also be a Christmas Fairtrade Coffee Morning from 10am-12pm at 6 St Michael’s Road, Burnham-on-Sea.
